Abijossy (Abioye Joseph) is a Nigerian-born gospel minister who began his musical journey at a young age as a member of the Juvenile Choir in his local church. He later transitioned into professional music during his time in higher education in 2000.
Known for hits like “Olowogbogboro” and “The Breath,” Abijossy recently relocated to Canada after releasing his latest music video, The Breath, which has become a favorite in households both locally and internationally.
In 2016, Abijossy released his first-ever music video with the EP Olowogbogboro, featuring award-winning gospel artist Psalm Ebube (famed for “Kabio Osi”). The video garnered nearly 20,000 views on YouTube within two years. Following this success, he released another album, The Breath, which encourages listeners to appreciate the gift of life. The inspiration for The Breath came from a moment of deep reflection, pondering the invaluable blessings of life, like the air we breathe, which God provides freely.
Released in October 2019, The Breath became the first gospel music video shot in ten different countries, including the USA, Canada, the UK, Cyprus, UAE, Ghana, Ukraine, Ireland, New Zealand, and Nigeria, further amplifying the universal nature of its message.
Abijossy has had the privilege of ministering in some of the largest churches across Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa, and beyond. His music videos are frequently featured on various Nigerian television stations, including RCCG’s Dove TV.
In November 2020, Abijossy launched his fourth album, Ogo (Glory), in Edmonton, Canada. He currently resides in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, with his wife and their three sons.
